2024 Chrysler Cuda: The Ultimate Electric Muscle Carc – The 2024 Chrysler Cuda is a stunning electric muscle car that revives the legendary nameplate of the Plymouth Barracuda. It is based on the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV concept, which was revealed in early 2023 as Stellantis’s first electric muscle car. The Cuda shares the same platform, powertrain, and design cues with the Charger but adds some distinctive features that make it stand out.
As a 2025 model, the Cuda is anticipated to arrive on sale in late 2024. It will go up against other electric performance vehicles like the Tesla Model S Plaid, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Lucid Air Dream Edition. The Cuda will offer a range of trim levels, from the base Select to the top-of-the-line SRT Hellcat Redeye, with different battery sizes, power outputs, and performance features.
Design: Exterior and Interior
With its oversized hood, short deck, and broad stance, the Cuda’s appearance is a contemporary take on the traditional muscle car. A bold visual impression is produced by the prominent grille and light bar that intersects the front fascia. There’s a large scoop on the bonnet to aid in cooling the electric drivetrain, and gills are on the fenders for further cooling. The Cuda has aerodynamic components, including a front splitter, a rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser, in addition to LED headlights and taillights.
The interior of the Cuda is spacious and luxurious, with a blend of leather, carbon fiber, and metal accents. The Cuda has four battery options: a 75 kWh pack that offers 300 miles of range and 400 horsepower; a 100 kWh pack that provides 400 miles of range and 500 horsepower; a 125 kWh pack that offers 500 miles of range and 600 horsepower; and a 150 kWh pack that provides 600 miles of range and 700 horsepower.
The Cuda also has different performance modes, such as Eco, Sport, Track, and Custom, that adjust the power delivery, suspension settings, steering response, and brake feel. The Cuda can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3 seconds, depending on the battery size and trim level. The Cuda also has regenerative braking, adaptive air suspension, Brembo brakes, and Pirelli tires.
Release Date and Price
The 2024 Chrysler Cuda will debut at the 2024 Detroit Auto Show in January and go on sale in late 2024 as a 2025 model. The pricing of the Cuda will vary depending on the battery size and trim level. Still, it is estimated to start at around $60,000 for the base Select model with the 75 kWh battery pack and go up to $100,000 for the SRT Hellcat Redeye model with the 150 kWh battery pack.
